Colorbar was one of the first brands that I tried when I started dabbling in makeup. Their single eyeshadow are still some of the best I’ve tried till date and used to be very affordable back then. Colorbar offers a wide variety of shades be it their shadows, eyeliners, blushers but most of all lipsticks. Colorbar Ultimate 8hrs Stay Lipstick was launched a few months back and I have it in the shade French Pink which I will be reviewing today.

Packaging
The Colorbar Ultimate Stay Lipstick is packaged in a silver carton like most Colorbar products however it does not mention the list of ingredients. The lipstick comes in a metallic silver casing with a magnetic clasp mechanism. What that means is that the lipstick casing contains a magnet which shuts the cap with a click and will not come off in your handbag. This is the first time such a packaging has been seen in a drugstore brand and you can easily identify the color from the color coded sticker at the bottom of the lipstick.

The lipstick bullet also has a unique shape, it is slanted from both the sides and is flat from the top, thereby making it easier to have a clean and controlled application and also helps in lining the lips neatly.

Shade
Colorbar French Pink Ultimate Stay Lipstick is a beautiful, muted and demure pink with a slight blue undertone. It is the best everyday neutral pink lipstick for office in India. It will compliment fair to medium complexion well but will definitely wash out the dusky beauties. Many of you have been asking me about this lipstick everytime I wear it in my pics on Insta and I bet this shade will be very popular. Its also the perfect neutral lipstick to pair with a smokey eyemakeup or bold eyes.

Texture & Finish
Colorbar Ultimate Stay Lipsticks have a creamy and smooth formula which does not tug or pull. It glides on easily and settles into a powder matte finish which is surprisingly not drying at all. Currently my lips are in a really bad condition as I am not having enough fluids so kindly do not judge the lipstick by the swatch pic. It does have a tendency to settle down into lip lines so proper exfoliation is recommended. However, this Colorbar lipstick did not feel uncomfortable without a lip balm despite having dry lips.

Pigmentation
Colorbar Ultimate 8hrs Stay Lipstick French Pink is well pigmented and a single swipe gives a semi- opaque coverage. You can build up the coverage in say 2 swipes for a good color pay off which covers lip pigmentation quite well. Other darker shades in the range provide an opaque coverage in just a swipe so pretty happy when it comes to the color pay off.

Staying Power
Colorbar Ultimate 8hrs Stay Lipstick 003 French Pink stays put for about 4-5 hours which is pretty decent for a light colored lipstick. It survives small meals and drinks however get patchy after a full meal, requiring a touch up. Like the name suggests, these lipsticks claim to stay put for 8 hours and this one comes nowhere close to that which is definitely a bummer.

Best Pink Lipstick For Office: Colorbar Ultimate 8hrs Stay Lipstick French Pink Swatches, LOTD & Review
Price wise, Colorbar is definitely going the L’Oreal Paris way. I do find the Ultimate 8hrs Stay Lipsticks quite expensive despite the magnetic clasp packaging. I probably would’ve rated it higher had the color stayed put for 8 hours so I’d like to use some other shades from the range to test that.

HBM Recommendation: Colorbar Ultimate 8hrs Stay Lipstick French Pink is a beautiful everyday pink lipstick which will flatter fair to medium complexion well. These lipsticks have a comfortable matte texture and the shade stays put for 4-5 hours. It did not give me a staying power of 8 hrs like claimed and has a tendency to settle into lip lines. That said, I do find it a great purchase but only if you don’t mind the price tag.
