Maybelline Spiced Up Baby Lips Berry Sherbet & Spicy Cinnamon Lip Balm Review, Swatches & Price India
Packaging
Unlike the Electro Pop Balms, the new Maybelline Spiced Up Lip Balms come in the regular baby lips packaging ie a color coded twist up lip balm with a screw on cap. The twist up packaging makes it not only convenient to use but also much more hygienic compared to tub packaging lip balms like the Faces Lip Smoother
Shades & Pigmentation
I have 2 shades from the Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Range – Berry Sherbet & Spicy Cinnamon. Berry Sherbet is a warm berry red while Spicy Cinnamon is a tinted brown lip balm. Both the shades are much more pigmented than the Maybelline Electro Pop range and those with moderate pigmentation will definitely like these more. The shades are perfectly suitable for the Indian skintone especially for everyday wear as well. All the shades are shimmer free.
Staying Power & Efficacy
It claims to last for 12 hours which is obviously a bit too far fetched. Its stays put for a decent amount of time, say 3-4 hours but nowhere close to the 12 hr claim. It is extremely smooth, hydrating and nourishing. Some might just find it a bit too heavy on the lips but its an absolute boon for someone with dry and chapped lips like mine.
Though the pigmentation is good and quality great but it is similar to the original Baby Lips which is why I am a bit miffed about the price hike. At Rs 175, it is still affordable but why keep increasing your prices with every new range and no new frills?

HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: The new Maybelline Spiced Up Baby Lips in Berry Sherbet & Spicy Cinnamon are beautiful tinted lip balms which are hydrating and have a decent staying power of 4 hours. These are a bit more pigmented compared to the Electro Pop balms & the normal baby lips range though I wouldn’t exactly call them must haves. If you’re a baby lips loyalist or just wanna try something new, then surely give it a try!
