Kryolan Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencils Review, Swatch & Price
Its been awhile since I last posted a swatch post even though it was only last week that I posted the New Revlon Lip Crayon Swatches :p Anyhoo this a post I have been wanting to do for a really long time. The Ikonic Gel Eye Pencils which are popularly known as the Kryolan Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencils had taken the blogging world by storm last year and I ended up buying 6 of these 😀 Contrary to popular belief these are most definitely not manufactured by Kryolan and are not sold by their stores either. As far as I know these are only available at Beauty Centre, Mumbai.
Price: Rs 180-250
Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencils have an extremely creamy texture which glides on like butter. Honestly, these are the creamiest eye pencils I’ve ever used and yes because of it, there tends to be alot wastage while sharpening. You also need to sharpen it often due to the soft texture.
Ikonik Gel Eye Pencils are extremely pigmented and show up easily on dark lids. One swipe gives the true color and you wouldn’t need to go over the line to darken it more. I love the fact that its well pigmented as earlier when I had to line my eyes twice I always used to mess it up! With this, no such issues!
These are smudge and waterproof. You can smudge them within 30 secs(or so, no I didn’t time it :p ) upon application but once set they do not budge much on my non oily lids. The gel eye pencils are quite long staying and I need to use baby oil or waterproof makeup remover to completely remove it!
Now coming to big con which actually made me hate these. They are not at all suitable for your waterline and it irritated my sensitive eyes so much that I actually had to visit an ophthalmologist that very day. Ofcourse, I shouldn’t have applied it on my waterline what with it being a colored eye liner but most of the colored eye pencils without shimmer do not bother my eyes hence for me this is a big con. Even on my upper eyelids if I apply it too near to my waterline, my eyes start watering up and I get an headache.
Hence, Ikonic Gel Eye Liner Pencils are strictly not for those with sensitive eyes. I know many people who have used and loved it alot so if you don’t have sensitive and watery eyes then go for it as they are great value for money. Just remember to avoid it on your waterline!
