Rimmel London Apocalips /Showoff Lip Lacquer Aurora Review, Swatches & Pictures
I’m back with another Rimmel Apocalips/Showoff Lip Lacquer. This time in the shade Aurora. My lips are in a terrible state these days and I’ve been reaching for these hydrating lip lacquers the most.I’ve already reviewed Rimmel Apocalips/ShowOff Apocalyptic here .
I think I’m starting to prefer these over my absolute favorite Colorbar True glosses so read on to find out how good it is 😀
It’s the End of Colour as you know it!
The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer is neither a lipstick nor a gloss… It’s BIGGER than both!
LONG LIVE THE COLOUR!
Rimmel Apocalips/Showoff Lip Lacquers come in a glossy black tube with with a very interesting cap that has some beautiful uncut stone design on it. The packaging looks super pretty and the best part is that these are transparent at the bottom which eases identification incase you have more than one shade from the range. There is no leakage and it is very travel friendly.
These Apocalips come with a sponge doe foot applicator with a concave center which holds quite a bit of gloss. The applicator design is so very interesting and intelligent. This ensures that you do not have to dip back the brush for more product!
Rimmel Aurora is a bright reddish-coral shade which looks super pretty. This will flatter pretty much every skintone and it instantly perks up my complexion. It is very similar to Stellar but it more of a toned down version of it. The shade is apt for parties and I believe brides to be must have this shade in their trousseau as it will go very well with ethnic wear.
Texture & Finish
Apocalips/Showoff Lip Lacquers have the most wonderful and comfortable texture ever.! It is creamy and buttery which is very similar to the NYX Xtreme Lipcreams. They do not settle into lip lines and despite the creamy texture it isn’t sticky at all!
Aurora has a glossy finish when immediately applied but it settles into a semi matte finish after an hour or so which does not dry out the lips.
These are the most pigmented lip glosses/liquid lipstick I’ve ever used. It is intensely pigmented and even a light application gives an awesome color payoff. Rimmel Aurora will surely cover any pigmentation of the lips easily so those with pigmented lips will love this to the core <3
The staying power is pretty decent and it stays put for about 3 hours which is less than Apocaliptic but I do not mind re-touching it.It does not survive drinks or full meals so touch ups are a must with this lip color.
The only thing that I hate about these Apocalips Lip Lacquers is that it transfers onto everything unless you blot it which is super annoying and embarrassing!
The availability of Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers is a bit limited as these can only be found at Rimmel Counters & Parcos stores. No online store has started stocking these yet!
1) A gorgeous reddish-coral shade which looks luscious and so juicy on the lips

3) It is intensely pigmented and a single coat give an opaque finish
4) Instantly perk up any complexion
5) Comes with a unique doe foot applicator
6) Attractive Packaging
1) Tends to transfer a bit

HBM Recommendation: Rimmel Apocalips/Showoff Aurora Lip Lacquer is a gorgeous reddish coral that will suit all complexions. It is creamy, lightweight and has a non sticky texture which beauties with dry lips will love. The pigmentation and price is even better making it an absolute must have if you love such rosy corals!
