Color me Crazy, Color me Cool, Color me Pretty, Color me ASAP

Latest Hair Coloring Trends-2014

Gone are the days when hair coloring was limited to women in their mid-30s who HAD to dye their hair to cover greys. These days, girls as young as 15 experiment with hair coloring as it is definitely the latest “it” trend in the fashion circles. We have gone far ahead from the days of coloring our hair for need and necessity, to actually coloring our hair to make a style statement. In fact, hair color has gone back to being a need and necessity, but for a completely different reason, the need to be an ICON.

I recently jumped onto the bandwagon and since I have been obsessed with hair coloring ,I decided to list down a few trends that I’m loving this year and I’m literally dying to choose one for myself!

Latest Hair Coloring Trends 2014: Ombre Hair

Latest Hair Coloring Trends 2014: Ombre Hair

Ombre Hair: This is hottest trend of 2014 and was made popular with many celebrities internationally. Ombre hair basically means shaded hair which goes from dark to light. I usually do not like blonde highlights on dark hair but it sure looks pretty when tried as an ombre at the hair ends.

This also does end up giving the illusion of longer hair and admit it, who doesn’t like longer hair. Ombre waves are literally making waves this season especially with celebrities like Ciara, Olivia Wilde, Khloe Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Leah Michelle rocking their ombre hair on many red carpets. There is absolutely no wonder that it has been such a hit.

Ombre hair is very low maintenance and rarely requires regular touch ups, which is one of the biggest concerns about hair coloring. Just let your natural hair grow out and voila, you have another gradient in your Ombre ๐Ÿ˜‰

You can opt for subtle hair colors like mocha, dark copper, caramel- chestnut blonde or choose to go bold with platinum blonde, pink and even electric blue like Kylie Jenner.

Latest Hair Coloring Trends 2014: Bright Streaks

Latest Hair Coloring Trends 2014: Bright Streaks

Bright Hair Streaks: This trend has been around for quite a while. Katrina showed off her streaks way back in 2009, but the trend really picked up when Kareena Kapoor rocked a couple of red streaks in Ek Main Hoon Aur Ek Tu.

Hair Streaks are till date, extremely popular and by just adding one or 2 bright streaks to your hair you can instantly turn heads no matter where you go. Blue, Pink, Turquoise, Purple, Green, Red, you name it, we’ve seen it.

I would personally want to go for a bright blue or pink streaks and I’m definitely planning on trying out some temporary hair chalks before permanently getting them done. It sure requires guts but the end result is always striking and well worth it! Streaks are hands-down my favorite way to color my hair.

Latest Hair Coloring Trends 2014: Streaks in Fringes/Bangs

Colored Fringe: This is a simple yet a great way to spice up your style wherein you get some streaks in your bangs/fringes. Many women have been getting their bangs colored and it is quite a fun hairstyle that looks great on whoever I’ve seen.

Unlike ombre or bright streaks, colored fringes aren’t that dramatic ( depending on the color you choose, ofcourse) yet tend to change you appearance and make you look different.

A lighter shaded fringe could take years off your face and I’m sure many wouldn’t mind the refreshing chop off their age ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you are a bit daring then you can try out pink or even purple streaks.

Latest Hair Coloring Trends 2014: Highlights & Lowlights

Latest Hair Coloring Trends 2014: Highlights & Lowlights

Highlights & Lowlights: One of the most common styles of hair coloring, highlights and lowlights are extremely popular amongst women as it is the easiest way to revamp your hair. Depending on what sort of style you choose, you can make your hair look more radiant, add more depth to limp hair or make it look more voluminous.

Highlights & Lowlights are partial coloring techniques which adds a different shade to certain strands of hair so that your mane ends up having depth, texture and various complementary hues. Almost all celebrities rock this trend and it definitely looks the most subtle and work appropriate. Most people believe that dyeing the hair makes your hair look dry but instead highlighting tends to add more life and luminance especially if you opt for a subtle shade depending on your hair color.

Lowlights bring out the volume in your hair and highlights, the texture. A subtle blend of high and low lights would make a boring head of hair full of va-va-voom. A mane of luxurious hair is the end result whichever way you choose to go.

Coloring your hair is always a risk, Or so we have always chose to believe. But the right color for you could do wonders to your face, your hair, your body, your charm, your personality, your mirror image, oh lord, isn’t it already obvious I’m loving it ๐Ÿ™‚
