Burst Of Happyness Working Gurl + Cucumber Aloe & Rice Soap Review & Price
Many of us hate using soaps and there are a number of reasons to it. Probably the biggest reason why is the addition of harmful chemicals & cheap fillers. Besides the usual suspects, the commercial soaps also contain surfactants like SLS which end up drying the skin to a good extent. However, there are a few brands which aim at making handmade soaps full of natural goodness that not only clean the body but do so without irritating or drying out your skin.
One such brand & my personal favorite is Burst Of Happyness. I have previously tried some of their products like the What a Girl Wants Cleanser & the French Red Clay Soap which worked tremendously well at reducing my summer tan. We’ve been trying out some of their other variants lately which I shall be reviewing today.

Product DescriptionAloe vera has been used for skin care since ages as it is rich in antioxidants and various other minerals. It’s healing properties range from treating acne, to preventing wrinkles, healing wounds and soothing the skin. Cucumber is excellent for skin care as it helps in soothing and softening your skin. It is also believed to help lighten the skin and works as an astringent. Organic Rice Flour is used extensively in Asia for its anti ageing and skin whitening qualities. This soap is palm free, and the base oils – olive, coconut, rice bran, cocoa butter & castor have been carefully selected for their skin loving attributes.
This soap with a very big name could easily be called a Summer’s Delight. With the healing properties of aloe vera to the cooling feel of cucumber along with the skin whitening qualities of organic rice flour, this soap is just perfect for use in summers. It is a beige-brown bar with certain rolls on the top. Nothing fancy like the Red Clay Soap which was such a treat to the eyes, so much so it hurt to waste it by using it.
Being a natural handmade soap, it does not lather as much as the usual soaps however it adequately removse the dirt & grime from the body. The Cucumber Aloe Rice Flour Soap gives a cooling sensation after every use making it even more perfect for summers, since thats exactly what you need after a hot day in the sun.
It has a beautiful mint-y scent probably from the spearmint & eucalyptus essential oil that it contains. My mom finds it quite uplifting though personally I prefer a more floral fragrance for my bath & body products. For me a big con is the price. I understand that natural & organic products do cost a bit more but at Rs 300 per bar it is almost as expensive as a LUSH bathing bar 😮 I don’t see myself spending so much on a soap every month otherwise this would’ve been a perfectly rated soap!

Enjoy the scrubby and deep cleansing benefits in one go with french green clay sandwiched between ground almonds, poppy seeds and dead sea mud. Cocoa Butter and Olive Oil provide extra moisture while the poppy seeds & almonds scrub off dead skin to reveal smoother, fresher skin . Dead sea mud benefits start with regulating the blood circulation, forming and repairing new and healthy skin cells. The fine dead sea mud grains help skin cleansing, detoxification, rejuvenation and removal of dirt and pollutants from the skin.
The Burst Of Happyness Working Gurl is a deep cleansing and exfoliating bar. This too is a beige-ish colored soap bar with a pale green center (which is the french green clay) & the scrubbing particles at the bottom of the bar. This contains grounded poppy seeds & dead sea mud which gently scrubs & exfoliates the skin. It is extremely gentle on the skin hence I don’t mind using it every other day.
The Working Gurl Soap contains cocoa butter & olive oil as well to provide the adequate hydration so that the skin does not dry out. Its suitable for all skin types & leaves my skin feeling smoother & refreshed. One thing I’d like to mention is that Burst Of Happyness does not believe in using any artificial coloring or fragrances hence their soaps might not look the prettiest but are definitely beneficial. I know a person with sensitive skin would rather adjust on the “looks” than use something that might irritate his/her skin, thats the whole point of natural soaps afterall! At Rs 200 for a bar of 100gm it is a wee bit expensive compared to other commercial soaps but well worth it
Overall, just like the last time Burst Of Happyness managed to justify their brand name as their products made my skin happy & refreshed. Their products can be easily ordered online from their website.
