Indian Street Style: OOTD – Taming The Weather
Weather is again acting all weird and unpredictable. Sudden, heavy rains with intermittent sun really gets the worst out of me. No, I do not hate rains. In fact, I love them, but I hate the sudden heat and humidity which follows the rains in Delhi. I enjoy rainy days with a hot cuppa of tea and an interesting book to read. Perfect for stealing few moments out of our busy lives to recharge yourself.
However, the same love changes into extreme dislike the moment I need to step out on such days for an important meeting or an event. The mess caused by the rains and the resultant humidity completely shuts me off. Ok, I know enough of rants. Life does not stop for anyone or anything. So, I do make my peace with the weather and focus on my outfits to give me a ray of sunshine in the clouds. Pun intended!!!
Indian Street Style & Fashion Blog
I am sure I am not the only one who relies on fashion to get through a hard day. Even in my job, I dress better on the days when I have stressful meetings. The smart and classy outfits keep me going on, without getting lost in all the mess. If you have not yet tried this trick, I really urge you to give it a try and see the difference.
Let’s start from my first demon – the unpredictable weather. If I were to step out on a day when I expect all kinds of seasons, viz. summer, rainy and humid, I need to have a solid outfit decided. This is the only way I feel I am completely ready for the day. Having a both stylish and comfortable outfit improves my mood and makes me a better person to deal with. Perks for everyone!!! 🙂
You need to pick one central piece and design the outfit around it. And later, add more pieces for comfort and seasonal style. We decided to design our outfit around the beautiful chiffon top. I love the feel of lightweight chiffon for humid and hot days. The white top with a very stylish feather print is definitely the center of attraction in the whole outfit. It brands the entire outfit as summery and fun, without even adding any major accessory yet.
Now let’s move on to complementing the top. Shorts are another perfect way to tackle both heat and rains. Since we have already opted for a print chiffon top, the plain casual shorts both complement and contrast it. The khaki color adds a solid contrast to the printed top, without taking away any attention from the print. At the same time, it fits perfectly with the breezy theme introduced by the top.
Time to add a splash of color to the outfit. We are in love with these super pretty Sky Hi Dunks from Nike. The bright blue color gives the required punch to the neutrals in the outfit. These shoes are the super stars of our outfit – they add color, style and comfort single-handedly. Plus, you also get to follow the latest trend of wearing sneakers, which has taken the world by storm.
We have not forgotten the accessories. In fact, we opted to add the summery feel though our them. Florals are the universal symbol for spring and summers. The floral sling bag add the same feel to the outfit. The bag is light and convenient to carry your stuff around, without tiring yourself. And yes, add a hat to further spruce up. It will save you from harsh sunrays and light sprinkle of rain. Oooh and don’t forget to add some midi rings which look so dainty and pretty!
