I love spending on makeup products but I hate buying makeup removers, no its not because I’m frugal(ok maybe a bit) but because I’ve always had disasters with most of them. The ones that come to my mind right now are the Revlon & Rimmel Makeup Removers which made my eyes burn!! Nothing works as well as olive oil for my sensitive eyes hence I conveniently ignored the Maybelline Clean Express Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover when i saw this at the mall last month. However, the shopaholic in me kicked in a week later and I finally ended up buying it. Read on to know if this managed to impress me!

The Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean! Makeup Remover comes in a cute plastic bottle with a white screw on cap. It has a small opening which lets out adequate product. The bottle is slightly tinted but you can easily tell the leftover quantity. I quite like the packaging and find it convenient, fuss free and travel friendly.

The Maybelline Total Clean Waterproof Makeup Remover is a bi-phasic makeup remover which means it is a combination of water and oil and needs to be shaken before use. It has a very runny consistency which is almost like water and a little goes a long way!

Efficacy
I just take a little bit of the remover on a cotton pad and apply it to my eyes for 5-10 secs which loosens up the makeup applied. It does not completely remove waterproof makeup in one go and I certainly need to use it multiple times to completely remove my waterproof mascara. Olive Oil on the other hands removes it in just 1-2 wipes!

Like I mentioned before, I have extremely sensitive eyes and it did not bother me much or make my vision blurry like olive oil does at times. Yes, it did slightly sting when I used it the first time and my eyes feel a bit tired everytime I use it to remove kajal. Hence, now I avoid using it on my waterline but even when I do it does not hurt alot but something I’d like to avoid. This will work pretty well for everybody barring those who have extremely, and i mean very sensitive eyes like I do!

Maybelline Waterproof Makeup Remover easily removes lip products even the ones that stain the lips and high staying waterproof base products like MAC Prolongwear Foundation! Despite being quite watery it does leave a slightly oily residue and I need to use my face wash to get rid of it.

Worth the money?
Alright,you guys must be wondering why the heck am I asking that question for a product which costs only 300 bucks? Well it might seem affordable to you but have you actually looked at the quantity? It is quite expensive for just 70ml especially coming from Maybelline! I have finished half of this in less than a month so it might not be so easy on the pocket afterall.

HBM Recommendation: Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean Eye & Lip Makeup Remover is a bi-phasic remover which is gentle and adequately removes makeup from the face. It does require a wee bit of effort to completely remove waterproof mascara but ultimately gets the job done. The Maybelline makeup remover did slightly sting my extremely sensitive eyes and made them feel tired when I used it on my waterline. I also find it pricey coming from Maybelline especially for the quantity provided however that said, I still think its a decent waterproof makeup remover and worth a try!

I have always liked the previous formula of Maybelline makeup remover...n mostly will b buying this 1 as well..i love bioderma but it doesn't remove difficult makeup as its too mild....mostly will buy this soon...

There is a different packaging available in Canada. I wish those wipes were sold here in India too!

You might want to try Clinique's Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips. Its the most amazing product I have ever used. You pay for it once and it goes a loooooooooooong way. It will never irritate your eyes and gives such a beautiful glow to the skin. Highly recommended!
yeah I tried that on my recent trip when I forgot to carry any makeup remover. It is great and definitely didn't sting my eyes but still can't get myself to spend so much on a makeup remover :(
I have used this one, same issue its more oily than bi-phase Maybelline remover. But very effective for removing waterproof and rigid liners
I didn't try the older version but yes this one definitely leaves an oily residue!
I think that oils make the best makeup remover :)
