Its been a week of new launches and if I had to choose the one product that I was the most excited about then it’d have to be the L’Oreal Shine Caresse Lip Colors. I had been waiting so eagerly for these to launch in India and I was totally ecstatic when I finally got my hands on these pretty stains. The first thing that attracted me to the Shine Caresse Lipcolors was the packaging! It comes in a sleek rectangular mettalic gold packaging which looks very luxurious and classy. The shade is easily identified and the tube is packaged in a gold box which mentions the ingredients,date of expiry and other necessary details.

The L’Oreal Caresse Shine Lipcolors has a small petal shaped applicator which have a hole in the middle due to which excess product is removed. It applies the product smoothly and evenly.The packaging is very intelligent and beautiful and I love seeing this on my dresser as it looks oh so pretty <3

Shade
I picked up Venus because it looked like a gorgeous pinky peach however it is more of a nude coral on the lips. One thing I’ve noticed about the Caresse Shine lipcolors is that they tend to look different on the lips compared to what they look like in the tube so make sure you apply them at the store before buying it! The pretty nude coral color does not wash me out and looks extremely natural yet adds the right amount of color to my face.

Texture & Pigmentation
L’Oreal Shine Caress Lipcolors have the best texture ever. They’re so lightweight that at times I forget that I’ve applied something on the lips. Despite the lightweight texture it instantly hydrates my dry lips without feeling sticky and feels veryyyy comfortable!

The is one of the sheerest colors in the range but you can build it up in 2-3 swipes. However it certainly won’t cover pigmentation of lips as its quite a light shade. Venus is the sort of shade which is perfect to wear everyday and does not make you look “too made up”

Staying Power
Despite it being a light shade, it lasts for about 4 hours on me. It survives small meals and snacks and does not transfer! It leaves a very natural tint behind which can only be removed with a makeup remover. It’d be interesting to see how much longer do the darker colors last.

Dupe Alert!
These are famous as the YSL Glossy Stains! I do not own one(yet :p) but judging from the reviews they do seem as good as the Glossy Stains and they are definitely worth a try. At ₹499 its quite well priced and now I just wish we get all the shades in India 😀

Pros
1) A beautiful nudish coral that does not wash me out!
2) Has a lightweight texture which does not dry out the lips
3) Hydrates the lips yet does not feel sticky
4) Amazing staying power which survives small meals and snacks
5) Leaves behind a natural stain hence does not require immediate touch ups
6) Comes in a luxurious and attractive packaging with a great quality applicator
7) Love L’Oreal for pricing this well

Cons
1) Those with pigmented lips will not be too fond of it
2) It will wash out the darker complexions

HBM Recommendation: L’Oreal Shine Caresse Venus Lipcolor is a beautiful coral nude which has a lightweight and hydrating texture. It has a pretty good staying power and leaves behind a natural stain. If you’re looking for a pretty everyday color then this a great option but those with heavily pigmented lips should steer clear of this!
