The Avene D Pigment Dark Spot Corrector comes in a pristine white tube with a silver cap. It has a protruding tiny nozzle which is quite effective in controlling the amount of product to be used. Though the tube is tiny but it lasts quite a long time as you need a small amount per usage and ofcourse would take up less space incase you take it with you on a trip.

Texture
The Avene Lightener is a slightly yellow in color and is of a light consistency. The Light Dark Spot Corrector is said to be suitable for normal to combination skin but I feel even oily skin would like the texture. I have been using it as a spot corrector rather than all over the face as a moisturizer. You can try the rich dark spot corrector if you have dry skin as that is more hydrating.

Efficacy
Since the Avene Dark Spot Lightener contains retinol, it is advisable to only use it at night. Also, make sure you do not skip sunscreen while going out especially when using retinol products as it makes the skin more sensitive. I recently noticed some dark spots around my nose and thats where I primarily applied the spot corrector. I also applied it around my chin area where I have uneven skintone. I did not notice any visible change the first 2 weeks and it did get me dejected at first.

However, I continued using it for the next 4 weeks and noticed considerable improvement in the spots around my nose. I used to cover it with a heavy duty concealer but now I don’t think anyone really notices it even when I got out with my bare face. The darkness around my chin has also reduced but not as much as the dark spots. I do not have acne marks but I’ve read that it has shown great results on girls who did and we all know how annoying acne marks can be. So, a product that works this effectively is surely worth it. A single tube would last you 2-3 months if you use it a spot treatment rather than a moisturizer.
