ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Video!

Hello Girlies,

The #ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has taken the world by storm and it is great to see celebrities support such a good cause as this so strongly. ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neuro degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. It’s wonderful to be a part of raising awareness and funds to help in fighting for a life just like ours.

The Ice Bucket Challenge was started last year to raise more awareness and funds for this cause. It involves throwing a bucket of ice cold water on yourself and further tagging your friends for the same. You have to tape the deed and complete it within 24 hours or donate $100 to the ALS Association for treatment research. This challenge recently went viral on social media and it has managed to raise $53 million dollars alone this year. Imagine the number of lives we could help with that sort of an amount.

I was tagged by my dear friend Shiksha for this challenge and we decided to shoot it at her house. I tried to pick up half a bucket of water but then I couldn’t manage it so I had to use a plastic tub instead. It was full of ice but it all melted by the time I put it on myself though it was still very cold. Do not miss out on my friend lol-ing at the end of the video 😀

Its surprising how my first video is with no base makeup and in my sweats(I had just come from my Zumba class) and please ignore the high pitched voice as I was too nervous and kept on forgetting who I wanted to tag.

I know there are many critics for this challenge but I truly feel if dropping a bucket of water manages to raise such a great amount and awareness about a cause then I’ll happily do so. I have already donated my share and urge you all to do so as well even if you haven’t been tagged for the same!

Let me know what you thought about the video and if you have done the Ice Bucket Challenge yet 🙂
